30 days ago I was asked to try Regenurex which is a Canadian algae supplement that prevents cell oxidization as well as a host of other reported benefits. I train very specific with 3 weeks of progressive build and the 4th being a 30% deload, then repeat month after month. I eat to a science with a plant-based nutrition regiment that is 100% clean/macro-based and consistent plan that I follow all year round and for life. What that means is that I know how my body reacts to all stimuli and fatigue levels based on the week's output & soreness/fatigue is very predictable.
2019 has seen 4 super heavy weeks for me where I hit 100+ km weeks + other cross-training. All of them required 3 to 4 days off after that week due to muscle and leg soreness. 3 weeks into the Regenurex 30 Day Challenge trial & coming home from Germany. I had my 5th hard training week had no soreness or fatigue and took the following Monday off because I was nervous about the mounting km and cross-training for 7 days. I have been back at it 4 more days since that 1 day off and another 50+ km in those 4 days with other cross-training. Zero soreness or fatigue! The absence of fatigue these last two weeks is not predictable in what was past predictable sore days after heavy training.
My goal isn’t to find a magic pill to make my race day performance better. My goal is to find that pill that allows me to fit in more quality training days. I know that the more I can be recovered, the more workouts I get in and the better that will make me race day! That’s science.
I am convinced without a doubt that Regenurex has to be the key to that! I know that I will be continuing using this product and pushing the boundaries incrementally. I have never found a product that has allowed me to recover in this way and or prevent soreness in my legs!
